Happy Thanksgiving everybody!
I wish you all a fun day surrounded by family and friends and lots of good food too!
For some, the holidays — and especially family gatherings — can be stressful. Maybe some of you are in need of a little levity. So I thought I’d share with you the best Thanksgiving song ever! I hope you find it as hilarious as I do…
Enjoy this wonderful day of Thanksgiving.
May we always be grateful for all we have.
“I think everybody should get rich and famous and do everything they ever dreamed of so they can see that it’s not the answer.” ~ Jim Carrey
Oh, how I dream of being wealthy rich! So often I find myself convinced that having gobs of money would be the end of all my problems. I constantly enter Publishers Clearinghouse because I’m just convinced that the Prize Patrol is going to show up at my door one of these days. When the lotto gets up to those outrageous amounts, I buy tickets. The fact that just a few years ago (2012) Americans spent $69 billion buying lottery tickets goes to show that many others act on similar dreams.
Isn’t it nice to know then that these improbable dreams aren’t the answer? The rich and famous have just as many problems as we do. Maybe not money problems, per se, but they are no stranger to unhappy marriages, self-esteem issues, depression, health problems… and they probably suffer the same problems with which you find yourself struggling.
I think the real key to happiness is realizing how very rich you are right now. Rich in spirit, rich in character, rich in family and friends. You have riches beyond measure … and no amount of money in the world could top those riches. Wrap yourself in gratitude and know that you are indeed rich, right here, right now.
Have you ever dreamed of being rich and famous? Do you realize the wealth you possess right now?
We can only be said to be alive in those moments
when our hearts are conscious of our treasures.
~ Thornton Wilder
To me, this quote is talking about living in gratitude. If we continue to be conscious of our treasures and that which we are grateful for then we can continue to fully live.
It’s hard sometimes to always have a grateful heart. Life gets in the way, our moods challenge our peace of mind and obstacles seem to bombard us. But so long as we are able to always count our blessings then we will find happiness. We will live full and vibrant lives.
I get in my own way sometimes, and most times, truth be told. I do let the negative drag me down at times but I strive for peace of mind. It’s impossible to always be in that positive state but we should aim to have our moments of gratitude always outweigh those moments of negativity and despair.
What about you? Are you able to always be conscious of your treasures? Do you live life in gratitude? How do you interpret this quote?
“Friendship is to people what sunshine is to flowers” ~unknown
I have the best customers and friends! I was so deeply touched when two of my dogsitting customers came over with flowers for me this week! It brightened my whole spirit, not to mention my home! What a way to start a new year, surrounded by gorgeous flowers from extraordinary women with very loving hearts. I just love my customers…and I love their dogs!
Thank You Jenna!
Thank You Alissa!
