Iguana and Bulldog Share a Nap & BOTB Break

How adorable is this??!

Iguanas are cool. Other than seeing them in aquariums, I’ve only been around an iguana once. But it was such a cool experience. He seemed so affectionate. I was lightly stroking his head and face and after a few strokes, he tilted his head and closed his eyes, like he was really digging it. It was so sweet! It made me consider getting one. This video has reignited that desire…

On another note, I’m going to be taking a break from Battle of the Bands and from blogging in general for just a short while. This video made me realize that I need to take a little time for myself and get some rest. I’m still considering whether or not I’m going to participate in the Blogging A-Z Challenge in April. I’ll keep you all posted.

And now, I’m signing off for a much needed nap…

    • Thanks Lee. I definitely will. Just need some time to take care of some things and especially my taxes. Ugh. If I can get those done I won’t be so stressed so hopefully this weekend I’ll make some headway with that. I don’t think I’ll be gone too long… because I miss you guys!

  1. Nice to see you, Michele. 🙂 That is such a cute video. Thanks for sharing it. You’ve been missed, my friend! I hope you get all the rest you need and also that you’ll be able to join us for the A to Z. Best wishes ❤

    • Thanks so much Debbie! I appreciate it. Been meaning to shoot you an email and catch up. Will do that soon.
I’m really conflicted about doing the A-Z this year. As it is, I am already finished with posts A-I so I should just get busy and finish the rest of the alphabet. But I’ve got so much hanging over my head that it has taken a back seat for now. Hopefully things will shift and I’ll get back in gear…
Talk soon. Thanks for missing me. That makes me feel really good. ❤

      • Personal life and good health should always be main priorities. I hope you’ll be able to do the A to Z, but if not, just think what a great jump start you’ll have for next year! 🙂 One day at a time….
Yes, please keep in touch. Enjoy your rest.

    • Aw, thanks Mary! It’s nice to be missed! Thanks for making me smile.
I know, I really should do the A-Z: it’s right up my alley and probably yours too (Classic One-Hit Wonders from the 70s) and I have a chunk of them done so if I can get the bulk finished before the end of the month, I’ll probably do it.
And then I would imagine that I’ll pick up BOTB again in May, probably mid-May.
I do miss it. And all of you! We have a great BOTB family so I can’t stay away for too long…
      talk soon! Thanks again.

  2. Hi, Michele!

After seeing that video I want a dozen iguanas (and a dozen bulldogs 🙂 . I didn’t realize that iguanas are so affectionate. It must be that they like the heat transfer from warm blooded animals and the sensation produced by stroking and petting. It seems to put them into a trance.

I understand your need to rest and thank you for officially announcing your blogging break here on your site. Your friends will all be here waiting for you when you decide to return.

Take good care of yourself, dear friend, and God bless!

    • Thanks so much Tom! I so appreciate your friendship.
Aren’t iguanas cool?? I would love to have one… or maybe more. A Facebook friend just commented that she had one for 14 years and that she slept in her pillowcase at night! How fun! 🙂
I go through phases. I’ve wanted a baby potbelly piglet for the longest time but after doing some research I found out that there’s no such thing as a mini-pig. They inevitably grow to be hundreds of pounds. I only want a little one that can run around the house. And then I took Picasso to the vet last week and they have a new resident pet: Marcia the duck. (trying to figure out how to post a picture in this comment but copy and paste isn’t working so not sure how to do it…)
Anyway, She’s 2 months old and walks around the counter (and across the keyboards) in the reception area. She let me love on her, petting her wings and massaging her neck. So sweet. I introduced Picasso to her and they both slowly inched their noses closer and closer to get a good sniff and then suddenly Marcia reared back her head and pecked Picasso right on his nose! It was funny. So now I want a duck…
      And also an iguana…
      🙂

      Thanks again Tom. Talk soon!

    • Hey Barbara. Just now saw your comment. Thanks for stopping by and checking out the interesting pairing of dog and iguana! I was going to do the A-Z this year and had almost half of my posts done but I just wasn’t into it this year for some reason. I needed to unplug for a bit… I must say, it’s a nice break. But I do miss everybody. I’ll be back in a month or so and will catch up then…

  3. Michele, breaks are needed. I’m thinking about taking a hiatus next week even though I have posts scheduled while I continue to prepare for the A-Z Challenge. I’m sure in May I’ll be ready for a longer break. lol Enjoy being unplugged for awhile, my friend!

  4. My dang comment didn’t post, dang it! I’ll try this again…

I AM an iguana, so why don’t you “keep” me?
    Ha! :o)

Good luck with those taxes, MICHELE. I deliberately stay poor so I have less taxes to pay. I hate giving Uncle Scam my own money. (Especially because there’s no real law requiring it.)

Get them naps in and catch up with us when ya can.

    • Hey Stephen! You’ve been on my mind lately. I owe you an email…. Long overdue. Sorry.
So, you’re an iguana, huh? Tell me more, please!
      And are you potty-trained?? 🙂

I’ll shoot you a note soon and let you know what’s going on since way back when I was in NC…

      Thanks friend.
      talk soon.

  5. I saw this video and it is so cute. We don’t think of reptiles as affectionate but they are…at least some of them are. If you need a break, then take it and enjoy the time off. Will look forward when you come back

    • Thanks Birgit! And you’re right: most people don’t think of reptiles as being affectionate loving creatures. I’m so glad to know that many of them are!

  7. I see I’m not the only one taking a blogging break. Hope you rest up and take care.
I’m hoping to see you back online soon. I’m still debating when I’ll be coming back. Thanks for stopping by my last post, sorry I never got back to you. Hope this makes up for it.
    Love the video!

    • What’s this? Is this the ghost of Christmas past? You guys need to get yourselves back here into the blogosphere! Being away is like missing church. The more you miss, the easier it is to stay away.

Repent, I say! The both of you! Get back to posting. I miss you guys!

      • Girl, you got that right! I haven’t been to my church in well over a year! I had a major surgery that kept me down for several months and I just got used to not going to church on Sundays and I’m finding it so hard to get back to! 🙂 I loved my church too: exceptionally cool people and incredible music.
So, I do need to get back to both church and blogging for sure.
It’s nice to be unplugged for a bit though, I must say.

Hope you’re having fun with the A-Z: you have an AWESOME theme! I just stopped by over there. I’ll be sure to drop in a few more times this month. Love that you’re doing a full playlist. That’s smart!

Thanks for coming by and guilting me a little bit… 🙂

    • Hey Jeffrey! Good to see you!!!! Definitely have missed you. Yeah, I’m following your lead and taking a much needed break. I kinda hate that I’m missing the A-Z this year but I just wasn’t into it for some reason. I have a great theme too (One Hit Wonders from the 70s) and half the posts were done but, ah, I’ll catch it next year.
But I’ll be back before then! 🙂
Hope you’re well. Have thought about you many times…
      Thanks for stopping by!

      • We are always so alike in several ways. As you can tell from my blog, I’m skipping A-Z too, but had an outline for what I wanted to use. I think I will use it next year, which will give me a chance to flesh it out more.
Hope you are back to blogging soon, it’s like a caling for me. I give it up, but it keep getting the bug. I’m sure I’ll be blogging full time before too long.
PS – I would love to have a lizard too. I’ve always loved reptiles.
