It’s Results time for my battle of ZZ Top’s Blue Jean Blues. Duking it out were Jeff Healey and Hank Williams Jr.
Jeff Healey came on strong with the first five votes going to him. He continued momentum but Hank Jr. managed to garner up five of the fifteen votes (mine included). I love his voice and the sax really swayed me. In the end though, Jeff Healey commandered the win.
Final tally:
Jeff Healey: 10 votes
Hank Williams Jr: 5 votes

I’m sorry your ears didn’t match mine on the “BJB” challenge, but happy to know that I was on the winning side for a change. 🙂
I saw the movie Roadhouse back in 1989 when it was released. Healey’s cover of Morrison’s “Roadhouse Blues” is one of the film’s highlights. It’s hard to believe that Patrick Swayze has been gone more than 7 years now.
I hope you are getting into the Christmas spirit and that your mother is doing well, too. Thanks again for an excellent band battle, dear friend Michele!

It is hard to believe that Patrick Swayze has been gone 7 years already! Such a great actor and from all accounts, a very loving man. I love that film Roadhouse. I’ve seen it a zillion times and each time it gets better.
As for Christmas spirit, I don’t have any. Not sure whether that’s going to be possible this year.
I hope you’re finding some joy in the season though! 🙂

Jeff Healey has been one of my favourites for many years and I love “Road House”! 😀 How sad that both he and Patrick Swayze left us much too young. At least your battle wasn’t as big a blowout as some of us had. Excellent choice of song, too. Thanks, Michele!

Thanks Debbie. I’m also a huge fan of Roadhouse. That movie is a classic for sure! And you’re right: Patrick and Jeff left us way too young. I wonder if they’re happy now?? We have to hope that those on the other side are happier than they were on this side of the veil…
