I’m a Contributing Writer at My Trending Stories!

I was very honored to be contacted by the My Trending Stories team last week, asking me to be a contributing writer. They said they came across my blog and thought my writing style would be a good fit for their site.

Naturally, I accepted. Here’s my debut article, in the News section. Guess what it’s about?

If you have a minute, please go check it out and let me know what you think. Thanks so much!

  1. I’m very proud of you, Michele. You wrote an excellent piece on a very important topic. It took me a while to post a comment on that site but I finally got one to go through. I hope you can find it. Thank you for all you do to help these beautiful creatures, the greyhounds!

    • Thank you Shady! I’m glad you liked the article.
I’m finding that their site isn’t very user-friendly, for some reason. I had a heck of a time posting my article and getting pictures in it. As it is, I can’t edit the photos so it will be a bit of trial and error. Also, I couldn’t use my Chrome browser to post pics. I had to switch to Foxfire, which is a pain. But it’s a cool concept and hopefully I’ll get a lot out of it… And hopefully they’ll improve their technical issues!
I’ll go try to find your comment… Thanks for leaving one! XOXO

    • Thanks Debbie! I know, around the world these tracks are closing. When abuses are brought to light and people get involved, much can be accomplished. I’m astounded at how quickly it’s happening globally — though there is still much work to be done.
Thanks for reading my article! I appreciate that so much. 🙂

  2. Very well written article. I didn’t know much about racing greyhounds. We used to have a track near us but we never went. I have a friend who adopted one of the greyhounds. A beautiful dog. And a loyal companion to her. Kudos to you

    • Thanks so much Paula. The greyhounds do make amazing animal companions! I’m glad you’ve interacted with one. Aren’t they so sweet?! They sure don’t deserve the treatment they get at the tracks. I can’t imagine how someone could look into those eyes and then turn around and kill them (with a hammer, hanging, etc; the ways they kill them are so inhumane). Just for not winning a few races. OMG, it makes me so angry and heartbroken.
I’m so glad you never went to the track! Thank you for that. 🙂

    • Thanks so much Janie! Coming from you that means a lot.
So true about never calling too much attention to the greyhounds. They have such a sad plight and really, very few people are aware of what they go through. I hope that other track in Jacksonville closes too! Thanks for your support

  3. Congratulations on the article which is excellent – hopefully more people will realise that this ‘sport’ needs to end. My beloved used to walk a rescue dog when we lived in London and he had obviously been abused in the past as it was like all the spirit had been sucked out of him – thankfully he’d been adopted by a fabulous couple who doted on him.

    • Thanks so much Pamela. I really appreciate you taking the time to read my article. That means a lot to me!
I’m so glad that your husband had the opportunity to spend time with one of these amazing dogs. And I’m so glad to hear that he went to a loving family who would spoil him for the rest of his days!

  4. How do you like writing for them? I was just contacted as well, and am trying to figure it all out. Do you actually ear or find it beneficial in any way? Thanks 🙂

    • Hi Lauren. I’ve only had time to write the one article. Their platform is difficult to navigate and there is some frustration there. I’m going to write some more articles as soon as I have time so don’t really know yet if it’s beneficial. There are a ton of writers there, I can tell you that. What are your thoughts on it?

      • Thanks for the response! I haven’t tried it out, myself, but think it couldn’t hurt to share posts I write for my own blog on a larger platform. I checked out some articles and it looks like they don’t get very much traffic.

        • Yes, that’s my impression too. But I think they’re really trying to grow. It’s a neat concept and they do promote specific articles but I haven’t made up my mind yet about it all. Like you said, it sure can’t hurt. Any exposure is good exposure, for the most part anyway… 🙂
Let me know when you do get set up over there so I can follow you!
          Have a great weekend Lauren…
