A-Z Challenge THEME REVEAL

atoz-theme-reveal-2016 v2

It’s almost April and you know what that means: it’s time for the A-Z Blogging Challenge! For those who aren’t sure what that means, the Challenge goes like this: Every day during the month of April, EXCEPT SUNDAYS, represents a different letter of the alphabet. (April 1st is A, April 2nd is B, etc). When you take away the Sundays, that leaves 26 days in the month of April, just enough to accommodate the alphabet. Each day, your blog must correspond with the specific letter of the day.

This is my third year participating. TODAY is a special day in that it’s the A-Z THEME REVEAL DAY…for those of us who have a theme. The first year I didn’t have a theme. But last year, I decided to do a theme and chose to do an A-Z Musical Tour of My Life and featured tons of classic rock music. I had so much fun with it that this year I decided to present a similar collection:

Classic TV Shows Theme Songs and Intros!

I’ll be presenting shows that I remember from my youth during the 60s and 70s. Each show will be introduced with information or associated memories, followed by a video of the TV show’s theme song intro.

I hope you will enjoy my collection. I had fun putting it together. Hopefully you’ll have fun checking it all out!

I look forward to checking out as many A-Zers as I can next month! It’s such a fun way to get to know other bloggers…and each year, I end up making fabulous new blogging friends. What a genius idea, this challenge. We have Arlee Bird of Tossing It Out to thank for the creation of such a fun event.

Hope to see you all here next month. When you do stop in, please share with us your favorite classic TV show theme song or intro. Here’s one of my favorites:

Are you doing the A-Z Challenge this year? Do you have a theme? If so, what are you doing for your A-Z theme?

  1. I watched a lot of TV in the 60’s so that part should bring back a lot of memories. I imagine I’ll know some of the 70’s stuff as well though I don’t remember watching too much TV during that decade.

    Sounds fun!

    • I don’t remember much of that decade period! (jk)
I hope you’ll enjoy it Lee. Thanks for always being such a loyal blogging friend!

    • OMG, how funny! They are exactly alike! I bet we’ll have some of the same shows for sure. Did you already put yours together? Mine has been done for months. I remember how long it took me to do last year’s (the classic rock theme) so I wanted to get a head start and once I started, I just couldn’t stop! So fun finding all those old theme songs, wasn’t it? Now let’s just hope they all post. It will be fun checking each other’s posts out. It’s great nostalgia for sure…

      • Here is the time frame I’ve been working with. Last year was my first A-Z theme challenge participation. I enjoyed it so much, I vowed to do it again. In May, I came up with the idea I wanted to work with and immediately began putting my list together. So, like you, I’ve been preparing for this for a long time. LOL

        • That’s great. So much less stress that way. What was your theme for last year? I didn’t have a theme my first time around and I had fun with that. It was just a hodge podge of writings. Haven’t even thought of what I might do for next year yet. LOL…

          • My theme last year was rants. Which was the main focus of my blog at that time. As for next year, I’m already thinking ahead to that. Either introducing Milwaukee to people, or some sort of a choose your own adventure story. I short one paragraph where I let the readers decide the next action from two presented. But may be too much work. Who knows, we’ll see.

  2. Hi, Michele!

Your theme will be of great interest to baby boomers like me and to younger readers eager to get an education about vintage TV series. I look forward to it! I also remember Don Adams from his earlier appearances and stand-up routines on the TV shows of Arthur Godfrey, Steve Allen and Perry Como.

Have a great week, dear friend!

    • My favorite thing about Don Adams was his famous shoe that was actually a phone. Remember that?? I used to love when he’d do that…
I’m glad you think you’ll be interested in my theme. I know there are a lot of people who don’t watch TV at all so they won’t like it but for us old timers, it should be a good trip down memory lane…
      Thanks Shady!

  4. I am doing the A to Z Challenge, but not with a theme. It will be a mix of Music Monday and Film Friday which i already do, but with my own creative writing and ramblings scattered here and there.

    • Thanks Debbie. Will be interesting to see how many shows you are familiar with as you grew up with Canadian TV, yes? Or was it German TV?

      • I was in Canada 1959-1965 (London, close to Detroit) and then from 1969 on (close to Buffalo), so I’m very familiar with American TV shows, as we get all the channels. Our Canadian networks air many of them as well.

        • Oh cool! I didn’t know if Canada had it’s own networks and separate programming but of course, being so close to the border, I’m now remembering that you are in the broadcast range of several of the US stations. I’m getting old and my old brain ain’t as sharp as it used to be, that’s for sure! 🙂

          • Canadian networks do produce their own series as well, some of which are imported to the U.S. (Flashpoint, Orphan Black, Rookie Blue, Motive, for example. SCTV was also a Canadian production.) I’ve always lived close to the U.S. border, so we probably know the same shows. Getting old sucks, doesn’t it? 😛

          • Oh I loved Flashpoint!!! Is that still in production? They cancelled it here and I don’t know why because it was such a fabulous show! There was another Canadian show that I really liked and for the life of me I can’t think of it now. It was a detective show. I’ll let you know if I can ever remember it… 🙂

  5. Oh My Gosh! This sounds like a really fun trip down memory lane! I used to really love the tv theme songs, so I can’t wait to see what you’ve come up with. This will be my second year. My first year started out as a mish-mash of music, but ended up being mostly earworms for the day. I just LOVE music!

  6. Your theme sounds fun! I have participated for 3 years also but I just can’t get excited this year. I may just sit it out and go visiting. I haven’t decided yet

    • I hear ya Paula. I may not participate next year. I was going to sit out this year but several months back I decided on the theme and I got excited about it so I started putting it together and I got on a kick and worked straight through for days until I had it all compiled. Each post has been scheduled for about 6 months now…
Now I’m taking a big deep breath and getting prepared to dive in. It’s a lot of work, especially now this year I’m helping out as one of the A-Z minions! So coupled with that will be two Battle of the Bands… I’ll probably collapse on the last day of April! 🙂

  8. Super cool theme! Will be looking forward to the stroll down Nostalgia lane 😉

Thanks for the visit over at Life In Dogs earlier… I really really appreciate your support and enthusiasm — and YES, please, share any and all stories you want to, as long or as short as you want to / can make them… I’ll love reading every bit of them, I’ll love learning from them (and from you), and I’m sure anyone else who has the heart to follow my (kinda sorta antisocial) posts will absolutely love reading your input, too. I even thought — madness, I know — what if you came over and guest-posted for me? I know, I know, you’re probably up to your neck in your own posts, so no rush and no pressure at all… Think about it when you get a chance, and… hey, maybe even for after April 🙂

Have a lovely evening, Michele — and thanks again!
