Write it on your heart that every day is the best day in the year.
~Ralph Waldo Emerson
A new year has begun. There is excitement in starting an untainted new year, with new goals and new aspirations in mind. But as the days and weeks wear on, the resolutions fade.
I like Emerson’s quote because it takes into account that each and every day is a fresh start. Our days are what we make of them so why not start each day with a positive attitude and an expectation that it is going to be the best day of the year. How can you go wrong thinking like this?
May every day be your best day ever!
Happy New Year…Happy New Day!
Sounds like me. I don’t overly think about tomorrow and tend to forget much about yesterday. In the now is about as real as I get.

That is a great quote. I am not at all a laid back person. I am a worrier and an over-thinker! But hey, it has suited me all of these 64 years. And I am planning on having as many good days this year as I can muster!!

Glad to hear that Paula! You can muster a good day every day! My mom is a chronic worrier and that’s not good. I have witnessed it affect her health so please try not to worry too much. Why worry about things that haven’t yet happened? That’s what I keep trying to tell her anyway…

I agree with this…unless your cat wakes you up by playing with your feet, with its claws:)

I studied Emerson’s theory on poetry in college. Whitman took the theory and made it reality. I still quote Emerson regularly. He was a brilliant person.
