First up: Promotional news: This coming week is going to be very exciting. I’m teaming up with Janie Junebug of Janie Junebug’s Righting and Editing to do a great prize giveaway through something new to me, a Rafflecopter. Have you ever heard of a Rafflecopter before now? I’m so excited! The prize package includes a bracelet and earring set from my store and some fabulous books and a gift certificate too! Details coming on Monday. Don’t miss it!
Now for my Battle of the Bands results: The song was Argent’s Hold Your Head Up. The contenders were Fish and Lana Lane. Fish ran away with this one with 73% of the vote! I cast my vote for Lana Lane. I liked her version better. Fish’s was definitely good but Lana just put a different spin on the song and I loved the organ in her version. Overall her instrumentation rocked, I thought.
Final tally:
Fish – 11 votes
Lana Lane – 4 votes
As always, thanks for participating in my battle! See you on December 1st for the next battle…
And please tell me: are you familiar with a Rafflecopter?
Hi, Michele! You presented two worthy contenders in your BOTB but I saw a lopsided contest developing early on and therefore I am not surprised by the outcome. Both recordings were new to me so I learned something and enjoyed. I hope your parents are well and that you are all having a great weekend, dear friend!

Hey Shady. Thanks for dropping by. It has been a busy week and weekend! Glad you were introduced to some new artists. I really liked Lana Lane and will be checking out more of her music.
Happy Monday and have a great week! XOXO

Whoa—that was indeed a runaway winner! And congratulations on the rafflecopter; I’ve never participated in one, but I’ve seen them around the ‘net every now and then (especially for blog tours and such). I’ll be sure to share and spread the word—and, of course, participate… A first for you, a first for me 🙂
Much success, Michele!

Well, some Battles go that way.
I did like the instrumental (keyboard) middle part of Lana’s version. And you’ll recall that I felt if it had been incorporated into Fish’s vocals, it would have given us the ultimate version of this song.
Oh, well. So it goes.
See ya for the Battles on December 1st, eh?

Thanks Stephen. Hard to believe we’re already talking about DECEMBER battles! This year has gone so fast. But it’s been a fun year since I’ve been involved in the BOTBs. Have made some great new friends through the battles so thanks for all you do!

I’ll stand by my losing vote, but the Fish version wasn’t bad to my ears.

True. I was a fan of Lana’s version but Fish’s was a close second… 🙂

I actually voted for the winner this time around. Most of the battles this week I’ve been in the minority. However, I did think both were good.
Anyway, it’s been a crazy week, sorry it’s taken so long to come comment. Have a great week.
