“Prayer is telephoning to God, and Intuition is God telephoning to you.”
~ Florence Scovel Shinn
I love this quote. You view your intuition so much more fully and completely when you see it as God talking to you. I have learned (the hard way) to always follow my intuition because it has consistently proven to be right.
I say I learned the hard way because when bad things have happened to me –and they didn’t need to; in other words, they resulted from an action that I knowingly took– I have realized that had I followed my gut instinct (aka my intuition), the bad would not have occurred.
But I failed to listen. I heard it, oh I definitely heard it. But I CHOSE to push it to the back of my mind, and then again I CHOSE to completely ignore it. When I looked back, after the storms had passed and I was left dealing with the fallout, I realized that I knew the danger all along because that little voice in my head was telling me exactly what I needed to hear. It was God showing me the way…or my angels.
So tell me, do you listen to your gut instinct? Do you follow your intuition? What has your intuition taught you? Do you think that intuition is God talking to you?
true words.

Yes, I think God talks to me when I can’t get something out of my mind. It’s as if He pokes me in the shoulder and says, Listen! Listen! It’s important.

Oh boy do I listen to my intuition. I have enough “battlescars” to remind me what happens when I don’t listen, but I know me. There will be times when I still won’t, but I always know how important it is!

Nice quote! There are many things in life I wish I had listened to my intuition! I guess it is part of growing up:)

I know. And hindsight is always 20/20. But what a valuable lesson to finally learn, about intuition. It can be a lifesaver…

Never thought of prayer and intuition in quite that way, but I do often follow my sense of intuition and I do think it is a guiding sense that is God given.

I’m like Arlee Bird above, I never thought of too together like, love the quote and am going to write it down. I also agree it’s his way of getting our attention and sometimes we just don’t get it….either by choice or because we’re unaware.

Yes, and sometimes we don’t allow ourselves to be open to our intuition because our mind takes over the wheel and drives for us. Not relying on our intuition is like driving without steering. Thanks for stopping by Sandy.

I’m not religious, but I think we all have that “gut feeling” and have seen things go
wrong when it was ignored. Call it intuition, instinct, sixth sense; it’s definitely there and I usually pay attention to it.

That’s good that you usually pay attention to it. It has probably saved your life many times over…in a number of ways, not just the dramatic way.

I do listen to my intuition and it has helped me in many ways. Sometimes one must have faith in one’s intuition when facts say otherwise.

Very true. And that’s the hardest time to listen, when all things are lining up that seem to go against what we are sensing… Thanks for stopping by Birgit

I personally go over time for discernment when confronted with dilemma or situatio that I need to decide on. And ask that God lead me to act. Often, I know that have made the right decision when I feel at peace about it.
